AUTOMATED EXTERNAL DEFIBRILLATOR  (AED) TRAINING

RIVER EDGE RECREATION COMMISSION   AUTOMATED EXTERNAL DEFIBRILLATOR  (AED) TRAINING

The Recreation Commission and the Trustees of the River Edge Central Athletic Council have been working over the past three years to provide an Automated External Defibrillator program that will provide immediate access to an AED unit on River Edge fields.

After researching the best AED units for our needs, the Commission has chosen the Cardiac Science Powerheart G5, a unit that integrates an effective CPR component.   On March 20th,  Mayor and Council approved the lease agreement for four (4) AED units -Cardiac Science  Powerheart G5 - which will be placed at KBG Field, Little League Fields, Roosevelt School Field and Cherry Hill School Field.

The Commission will require all volunteer coaches to be trained on the use of the Cardiac Science Powerheart G5 .

An in-person training session will be held on Wednesday, April 5th.  Two sessions will be offered on the 5th, one at 6:30pm and one at 8:00pm in the River Edge Court Room. Attendance will qualify as completion of your AED training requirement.

Coaches unable to attend the in-person training sessions on April 5th will be provided with a Link to a training video and instructions for sending a completion certificate to the Recreation Commission.  Completion of the in-person training, or the on-line video training, is required for every coach in your league.

Please let me know if you have a question!!  Thank you for your cooperation!!
